Mat work is one of my favorite times of the day. The classroom gets a bit quieter as the children focus in a bit more and truly have the opportunity to explore materials at their own speed, in their own way. As a teacher, I get to chat with the children as they share their thoughts and all the "whys" behind their work. | So much of our learning in preschool is shared. Although children are social creatures, they thrive in moments of quiet privacy when no one interferes or contributes to the work of their hands and minds. I think we all deserve a little alone time each day! |

18+ years working with little people have given me an appreciation for the finer things in life: giggles, wide eyes, high fives and a good book. All signs of a great day! Archives
